Follow the below steps to edit the hosts file :

1. If you are on Windows 7 or Vista than right click notepad and Run as Administrator.

2. Now click on My Computer; Then C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc ---> hosts.....

How to edit the host file,

Click Start – search for "Notepad", right-click and select "Run as Administrator". This should launch notepad with elevated privileges. Now, open the host file from the File menu, edit and save.

3. Now simply add : 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com on the last line like in the image below :
